It is the latest form of gaming robot
MekaMon is a $300 battle robot from Reach Robotics and it is a real-life robot battler.
This robot is programmed with AR(augmented reality) and you can control it with your smartphone.
MekaMon is upgradable and customizable with detachable legs, weapons and shields.
This robot has four IR sensors, which help it to:
- Measure distance and location
- Effectively track the opponents
- And then accurately attack them
The robot has amazing ability to flip on its back and then quickly it can stabilize.
It connects to the smartphone app via Bluetooth. The robots connect with each other infrared signals, with two players’ phones has to be connected through Bluetooth.
The robot has limited battery life that can last for about one hour of play.
It is equally compatible with both iOS and Android devices, using phones’ cameras and infrared sensors.
You have to look through your phone’s screen to operate your robot and you have to use different objects like chairs and tables to protect it from opponents’ attack.
Reach Robotics is working on providing further add-ons and customization in the future.
Currently, MekaMon is available in white and black models from MekaMon.com and Apple at the price of £299.95.
